1) Castaway feeders high performance 12 volt motor spins at 2800 RPMs
and generates 10 lb. of torque. The motor is so efficient that it draws
less than 4 amps. This extends the battery life and eliminates the need
for a solar panel. The motor produces spread patterns of up to 120 feet
in diameter. This permits more animals and a wider variety of species
to feed longer without competing with each other. Additionally, the
motor starts and stops instantly so that feed does not pile up under
the feeder. A 5/16" x 6" stainless steel shaft is standard
with Castaway motors.
2) Designed to be worry-free and simple to operate, Castaway Feeders
digital timers can be programmed for up to 6 independent feed cycles
daily with spin times of 1 to 30 seconds for each cycle. The test cycle
has a 10 second delay and will spin for the same amount of time as the
feed cycle settings. If you leave the timer in a program position or
any feed cycle (1 - 6) the timer will automatically revert to the clock
settings so it will continue to operate normally. The same is true for
run times in the feed cycles. If you forget to set the run time, the
feeder will automatically run for a minimum of 1 second. The digital
timer comes fully wired and has a connection terminal for a remote receiver.
The timer has a battery level indicator to show the remaining charge
in the battery. The timer has 3 motor speed settings (high, medium or
low). This function allows the feeder to increase or decrease the diameter
of the feed pattern up to 120 feet.
3) Built from stainless steel, the spinner plate is easily adjusted
to accommodate different types and amounts of feed. Adjustments can
be made even when the feeder is full. Emptying the feeder is simply
done by removing the spinner plate. Adjusting the amount of feed disbursed
during a spin cycle can be done by either adjusting the timer or by
raising or lowering the spinner plate. The Stainless steel spinner plate
comes with gate plates that prevent the feeder from emptying during
high winds.
4) Constructed from high impact black ABS, the funnel fits perfectly
in the barrel, and extends beneath the feeder. The funnel is designed
to ensure a smooth, consistent flow of feed and eliminates feed from
becoming trapped in the barrels corners that will eventually mold.
It also lets you refill the feeder at your convenience, leaving no lapse
in your feeding cycle.
5) Castaway Feeders uses rigid 19-gauge steel drum barrels (18 gauge
on the 375 lb. feeders) for long term durability. The barrels are coated
inside with a baked-on phenolic epoxy base coat and the exterior is
painted with a gray rust proof primer, then finished with Sherwin Williams
Ennis-green exterior paint to protect it from the suns UV rays,
ensuring years of service.
6) The patented design of the feeders keeps animals like squirrels
and raccoons away from the feed, thus eliminating the additional cost
of varmint guards.
7) All of the hardware and heavy duty latches (nuts, bolts, and washers)
are made of rust proof stainless steel. In addition, the washers are
rubber coated on one side to ensure a tight seal.
8) Securely mounted inside the barrel on a heavy duty galvanized frame
is the plastic battery box that protects all of the electrical components
from making contact with metal, keeps them dust free, and clean.
9) All of our components are mounted internally to shield them from
all weather conditions.
10) Made from galvanized metal, the lid is designed to shed water,
not hold it. It is held in place by three easy on/off heavy duty stainless
steel latches. The lid is sealed to the barrel with a molded rubber
gasket to protect your feed from rain and moisture.
11) Castaway Feeders come complete with a free premium grade 12v rechargeable
battery that will last 14-16 months on a single charge. Recharging the
battery every 12 months with a proper charger will help extend the life
of the battery.
12) Castaway Feeders come with a limited lifetime warranty on the motor
and a limited 2-year warranty on other components (the rubber gasket,
lid clips, and battery have a one year warranty).
13) Quad and tripod feeders have three individual black powder coated
legs with attached feet that are designed to keep the legs from sinking
into the ground. The legs have 3/8 holes in each foot. Using the
ground anchors, you will stabilize the feeder in almost all weather
conditions.
